Members of the BTS group, namely RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, have announced their intention to commence the process of fulfilling their mandatory military service obligations in the Korean military.
On the 22nd, Big Hit Music, the agency representing BTS, stated, "RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have initiated the process of fulfilling their military service obligations," and added, "We will provide follow-up news on their enlistment as soon as it is confirmed."
According to the revised military service law in 2020, BTS members have been recommended to defer their enlistment until they reach the age of 30.
If the four BTS members decide not to postpone their enlistment, they will join the military promptly upon receiving the enlistment notice, following the example set by Jin and J-Hope.
The timing of their enlistment is expected to be either later this year or early next year at the latest. Consequently, all seven members of BTS will fulfill their military service obligations.
The agency and its members express the hope of resuming team activities in 2025 after completing their military service. Big Hit Music stated, "We seek warm support and unwavering love until RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook fulfill their military service duties and return in good health."
Meanwhile, BTS members Jin and J-Hope enlisted in the Army in December of the previous year and April of the current year, respectively, and are currently serving as assistants. Suga has been fulfilling his military service as a social service worker since September.
