BTS's Jungkook announced his military enlistment in December.
On the 22nd, Jungkook shared on the fan communication platform Weverse, "It's already the end of November. The wind is cold," expressing the start of his new journey in December.
Jungkook conveyed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support since his debut, stating, "Sharing this news feels heavy on one side of my heart, but on the other hand, my heart warms up as I reminisce about precious memories with 'ARMY'."
He added, "Asking for your patience is only fair. A year and a half is a considerable time. I cannot express any selfish sentiments now, but upon my return, I promise to grace the stage with a more mature presence, as always," he vowed.
Although it's a bit early for Jungkook, he left a heartfelt message for fans he won't be able to meet for a while, saying, "Stay healthy, even during the time we're apart."
On the same day, the agency announced that BTS members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have initiated the process of fulfilling their military service obligations. The exact date of Jungkook's military enlistment will be disclosed later.
Recently, BTS took a break from group activities, focusing on individual pursuits. Jin, the eldest member, has been in military service since December of the previous year, and J-Hope since April. Suga has been serving as a social service worker since September. The remaining members engaged in individual activities, including music projects and appearances on entertainment shows.
All BTS members have renewed their contracts with their agency HYBE, and their return as a complete group is anticipated in 2025.
