G-Dragon, a member of the group Big Bang, is expected to make a comeback in the first half of next year.
According to multiple K-pop insiders, G-Dragon plans to resume work on his solo album, which he had postponed for a while.
Originally, G-Dragon had announced his comeback for this year. However, his plans were disrupted last October when the police booked him on charges of violating drug laws under the Narcotics Control Act.
G-Dragon promptly stated that he had never taken drugs, voluntarily appeared at the police station for investigation, and, as a result, both the simplified reagent test and the detailed analysis by the National Forensic Service yielded negative results. A, the head of the entertainment establishment who had made a statement about his drug charges, also retracted his words, stating, 'I have never seen G-Dragon take drugs.' On the 19th, the police decided not to pursue charges, clearing G-Dragon of any legal issues.
Despite facing unforeseen setbacks, G-Dragon is now gearing up for his much-anticipated comeback, having successfully proven his innocence.
While there is no specific release schedule for the album yet, G-Dragon has been diligently working on new songs. His strong desire to return is evident, aiming for a comeback as early as next year or the first half of the year. Additionally, G-Dragon has invested more effort than ever in this album, marking his first new release in seven years since 'Kwon Ji-yong,' which was launched in 2017. When he visited a new agency after the expiration of his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment (referred to as YG), he meticulously discussed and selected the most suitable place to bring his music to life, considering the direction and concept.
As G-Dragon has showcased both his skills and popularity with his solo songs, there is high anticipation surrounding his comeback.
Meanwhile, speculations have emerged about G-Dragon's potential return to YG, but YG has declined to confirm, stating, 'It is difficult to provide confirmation.' Instead, Galaxy Corporation, recently rumored to have an exclusive contract with G-Dragon, plans to hold a press conference on the morning of the 21st to address drug cases, respond to critics, and unveil future plans."
