Advertisements for "FIFTY FIFTY," which entered the top 100 of both the U.S. Billboard and the U.K. official charts in record time, have been placed in Times Square, New York, and in the middle of LA.
The ad, announcing the song "Cupid" by FIFTY FIFTY, began to be displayed on April 7 (local time) and will continue until April 13.
This advertising campaign is unusual as it is a support promotion by YouTube headquarters. "The FIFTY FIFTY advertisement video appears every 12 minutes in Times Square and two other locations in New York," the agency said. "Supporting such advertisements on YouTube is not common."
FIFTY FIFTY hit the global music market with its song "Cupid" released in February. After appearing at No. 100 on the Billboard main single chart on April 1, it jumped to No. 94 on April 8. In the UK's official chart, it ranked 96th in early April and soared to 61st on the 7th. FIFTY FIFTY is the first to enter the Billboard chart and official chart top 100 at the same time, four months after its debut. This is an achievement that surpasses Newjeans record, which entered the charts six months after its debut.
Thanks to this overseas success, the stock price of PFT is rising in Korea. "Cupid" entered the top 100 late on the 9th, ranking 96th. Furthermore, its ranking has continued to rise, and by 8 p.m. on the 10th, it had climbed to 79th.
"I'm thrilled to share this good news with you, and I'm still surprised and can't believe it," FIFTY FIFTY said through their agency. "We will work hard to show you better performances with more responsibility, sincere music, and energy."
