"The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit announced on the 13th that it intends to close the case against singer G-Dragon, who faced allegations of drug administration, without filing charges.
The decision comes after G-Dragon tested negative in a comprehensive drug test and, despite recent questioning of six witnesses, failed to obtain statements substantiating the accusations.
The police will also not extend the travel ban imposed on G-Dragon, which expired around the 25th of last month. The investigation was initiated based on the statement of A (29, female), the manager of an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul, in September. The police suspected G-Dragon of drug use at the entertainment bar in December of the previous year.
G-Dragon, booked without detention on October 25 under charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, vehemently denied the allegations during a voluntary appearance at the police station on the 6th of last month, stating, 'There was no drug use.' After a simple reagent test and a comprehensive examination by the National Forensic Service, including hair, hands, and toenails, G-Dragon tested negative for drugs.
Despite criticism suggesting an unjust investigation by the police, they maintained that their approach is based on witness statements."
