"Group BTS's Jimin and Jungkook bid their final farewells to fans, relying on each other. Consequently, all BTS members will commence their military service as of now.
Jimin and Jungkook entered the boot camp of the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province on Wednesday afternoon. The two men will undergo basic military training at the boot camp, where Jin serves as an assistant, and then be deployed voluntarily. After that, they will serve in the military for 18 months.
Jungkook posted a photo of himself on his Instagram account on Wednesday along with the message, "See you soon." In the photo, Jimin and Jungkook are smiling and greeting each other with shaved heads just before enlisting. Jimin said, "I'll be back safely," through the fan community platform Weverse, and then proceeded to the training center.
When RM and V enlisted the previous day, Jimin and Jungkook, along with Jin and J-Hope, sat down to see them off. At that time, Jin looked cheerful, saying, "The trainee is talking," and released the two nervous men. Since then, Suga and J-Hope have joined Jimin and Jungkook at the scene of their enlistment. Especially, if J-Hope wore military uniforms the previous day, he watched their last appearance with Suga in comfortable outfits.
Before joining the military, Jimin talked with fans through a live broadcast and shared his feelings about joining the military. "I don't feel bad. I'm sad that I can't join the military without seeing my fans," he said.
"I saw Taehyung and Namjoon join the military today, and they both laughed and went home safely. I said I'll do well in good health," he said. "I'm not going to cry." "I miss you, too. I miss you so much. I can't wait to see you all. That way, we can all work together. I have to go. Still, I'm counting on you to join the military with Jungkook."
"SUGA is doing well. RM and V are doing well. Jin and Hoseok are doing well," he said. "Jungkook and I will do our best and do what we need to do. I want to do whatever I want after I come back."
"I hope you're healthy. I'll be back safely. I'm sure I feel restless because it's the day before. Still, I have to sleep today to be able to concentrate and do well tomorrow, so I'll do everything I need to organize and rest," Jungkook said.
"I didn't drink alcohol. I didn't want to drink until the previous day," Jungkook said, expressing mixed feelings. "All the members will serve in the military tomorrow. Thank you so much for your support until you leave. Stay healthy and happy."
J-Hope joined the military in December 2022, J-Hope joined the military in April this year, and Suga joined the military in September after being diagnosed as a social worker in the aftermath of a dislocated shoulder humerus. Since then, the BTS has taken a hiatus as the four of them started serving side by side for two consecutive days.
Meanwhile, BTS debuted in 2013 and entered the Billboard 200 chart with a LOVE YOURSELF album in 2017 after the popularity of "Hwa-yang Yeon-hwa," strengthening its global position and topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time as a Korean singer with "Dynamite" to rise to the top of the K-pop popular idol. Currently, they have renewed their contracts with their agency, Big Hit Music, and are scheduled to resume their full activities around June 2025 after being discharged from the military.
