Jungkook debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard main album chart, "Billboard 200."
According to the latest chart announced by Billboard on the 13th (local time), Jungkook's solo album "Golden," released on the 3rd, recorded a sales volume of 210,200 copies. Through this achievement, Jungkook secured the second spot after Taylor Swift's '1989,' which held the top position for two consecutive weeks.
The Billboard 200 ranking combines traditional record sales scores, such as physical albums in the United States, along with streaming equivalent albums (SEA) and track equivalent albums (TEA), which convert digital music download numbers into record sales.
Jungkook achieved 164,800 album sales, 29,800 SEA, and 15,600 TEA. Sales of the physical albums of "Golden" were listed as the best-selling during the chart aggregation period.
Most notably, Jungkook recorded the highest sales volume among K-pop solo singers in the U.S. in the first week of its release. He is the first K-pop solo artist to achieve sales of more than 200,000 copies in the first week of release in the U.S.
Earlier, Jungkook topped the Billboard main single chart, "Hot 100," with his first solo digital single "Seven" and led the "Global 200," becoming the first Korean solo artist to top the "Global" (excluding the United States) for seven consecutive weeks. His second digital single, '3D,' ranked third in the Hot 100. There is anticipation regarding the performance of the title song "Standing Next to You" from "Golden" on the Hot 100. Additionally, attention is focused on whether "Golden" will receive a better response and succeed in reaching the top of the "Billboard 200" next week.
"Golden" is an album based on Jungkook's "Golden Moment" and set a record by selling more than 2 million copies on the first day of release, marking a milestone as the first K-pop solo artist to achieve this feat. "Standing Next to You" quickly rose to the top of the iTunes Top Albums chart in 77 countries and regions after its release. Furthermore, according to the UK's official chart on the 10th, it debuted at No. 3 on the latest chart of the official album Top 100, marking the highest ranking among K-pop solo artist albums to date.
