Seoul is buzzing with excitement ahead of BTS's 10th anniversary debut next month.
According to the K-pop industry, reservations for major accommodations in Seoul, including hotels, have already reached full capacity for the 13th of the month, which marks the anniversary.
While no official announcement has been made, it is expected that various events commemorating BTS's 10th anniversary will be held throughout Seoul in June.
Reports suggest that BTS's agency, HYBE, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government have agreed to color several prominent attractions in Seoul purple, the symbolic color of BTS and their fandom "ARMY," to coincide with the debut date. In the past, BTS and HYBE have collaborated with local governments to color attractions in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Busan.
Attention is also focused on the possibility of events taking place at Gyeongbokgung Palace, specifically the Geunjeongjeon and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, which served as the backdrop for BTS's performances of "IDOL" and "Mikrokosmos" on NBC's "Jimmy Fallon Show" in 2020.
It was expected that the Seoul Metropolitan Government would designate BTS's 10th anniversary as a tourist week and organize large-scale events. The main event is rumored to be held at Yeouido Hangang Park, with an "ARMY ROAD" planned around it.
In addition to official events, international ARMYs are already making plans for domestic tours.
The tour itinerary includes the Cheongdam-dong office area, where former Big Hit Entertainment was located when BTS debuted. This includes a visit to a ssambap restaurant frequently visited by BTS members and Dosan Park, where they often took walks.
It's not just Seoul—many global ARMYs are reportedly preparing for a "BTS pilgrimage tour" to Maengbang Beach in Samcheok, Gangwon Province, where the "Butter" cover was filmed, and Jumunjin Beach in Gangneung, which was featured in the album "YOU NEVER WALK ALONE."
Given that Jin and J-Hope are currently serving in the military, it is unlikely that surprise celebrations such as group performances will take place. However, there is a possibility of sporadic events, such as screenings of the documentaries "j-hope in the box" and "Suga: Road to d-day," being held in theaters in June.
