BLACKPINK's Lisa sets new Guinness World Record with "LALISA" solo album
YG Entertainment announced on the 11th that Lisa's solo album "LALISA" has officially been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the "first K-pop artist solo album to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify."
Despite only containing two songs, the title track "LALISA" and "MONEY," the album achieved over 1 billion streams on Spotify in just 595 days since its release on September 10th, 2020.
This achievement adds to Lisa's previous Guinness records, including "YouTube Video of the Most-Watched Solo Artist in 24 hours," "YouTube Video of the Most-Watched K-Pop Solo Artist in 24 hours," and "MTV Video Music Awards K-Pop Solo Award."
In other news, following their Asian tour, BLACKPINK is scheduled to perform in Paris, France, and four North American city stadiums. In July, they will take the stage as the first headlining K-pop artist at the British Summer Time Festival held in Hyde Park, London.
