BTS member j-hope has received his notice to enlist in the South Korean military, according to his recent post on WeVerse.
On March 16, j-hope spoke to fans about his upcoming enlistment, saying, "I can't tell you exactly in detail, but I have the date to enlist already. It's time to get ready." He added, "Since Jin enlisted, I thought about when I should do it, but I decided to go as soon as possible and show you a better side of myself."
After receiving his notice, j-hope reached out to fellow member Jin for advice. "Right when I got the notice, Jin contacted me. I asked a lot of questions, and Jin gave me advice on what I needed," he shared. He also revealed that his goal during his time in the military is to "not get old" and stay in good physical condition.
j-hope recently released his solo single "On the Street" with J. Cole, which has been making waves on the K-Pop scene. The track topped the weekly fandom chart of the K-Pop-only chart show "K-Pop Radar," which is broadcasted across the United States. The K-Pop-only chart program "K-Pop Radar" has recently become a regular radio program in the US, making history for the K-Pop industry. The weekly fandom chart was released on March 17th, with "On the Street" taking the top spot. The music video for the song recorded 17.92 million views during the second week of "K-Pop Radar" (March 3-9, 2023).
According to K-Pop startup "K-Pop Radar," j-hope's Spotify followers increased by about 94,000 during the week, a notable figure compared to the average increase of 2,000 Spotify followers for K-Pop artists during the same period. The K-Pop Radar Weekly Trending Chart, which will be released on "K-Pop Radar," can be found on 88 Rising Radio and K-Pop Radar's Social Network Service (SNS).
