On the afternoon of February 28th, Jung Kook announced on Weverse that he had deleted his Instagram account, and assured fans that it was not a hack. "I just erased it because I didn't use it. Don't worry," he said. He also expressed his desire to connect with fans on Weverse Live more often in the future. "I deleted the app right away, and I don't think I'll have anything to do with it in the future! We will inform you in advance," he added.
Earlier, BTS members, including Jung Kook, opened their personal Instagram accounts simultaneously on December 6th, 2021. At the time, their agency, Big Hit Music, stated that they were opening the accounts to express their personalities as artists and communicate with fans in various ways.
Jung Kook's popularity was evident on Instagram, where he had amassed 50 million followers before deleting his account.
