The number of views on girl group BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love" music video has exceeded 1.8 billion, according to agency YG Entertainment.
The music video reached this milestone at 2:28 a.m. on the 26, marking a record-breaking achievement after approximately 4 years and 1 month since its release in April 2019.
YG stated, "This makes BLACKPINK the first K-pop artist to have two music videos with over 1.8 billion views."
Furthermore, the music video for BLACKPINK's other popular song "DDU-DU DDU-DU" is nearing 2.1 billion views.
"Kill This Love" is a captivating song accompanied by a distinctive choreography, featuring gun-like movements. It stands out with its powerful blend of brass and drum sounds. In 2019, it was the only K-pop video among the top 10 most-watched music videos worldwide.
During its initial week of release, "Kill This Love" achieved impressive rankings on the U.S. Billboard 200 and Hot 100, reaching 24th and 41st place, respectively. This broke records for K-pop girl groups at that time. Additionally, it topped the U.S. iTunes song chart, making BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group to achieve this feat.
