STORY
◇ Minhwa
Since centuries ago, Korean people believed that hanging a Minhwa on a wall brought in good luck, and repelled misfortune.
“Gilsang (길상) : Living a good, blessed life”.
We dreamed of happiness and promised ourselves to lead a kind life through images that represented the Gilsang. Thus these Minhwa are not only beautiful decorative pieces, but a symbol of human beings striving for happiness.
◇ Philosophy
Amihwa creates interior pieces that reinterpret Minhwa in a modern way, incorporating contemporary colors and atmospheres. It features the flashy yet elegant elements of traditional Korean design, with meanings hidden inside the pieces. The drawings represent a desire for good luck and having their wishes fulfilled. Amihwa strives to not only create beautiful artwork, but provide comfort through bringing good luck.

I absolutely love this mood lamp. It is beautiful as a piece of art all on its own hanging on my wall. And it is beautiful when plugged in and glowing gently on my end table. Learning about the history of the design
makes it even more special.
