G-Dragon and Nike's collaborative sneakers, Kwon Do 1, will return with a new collection inspired by Taekwondo. The apparel features a free silhouette, similar to that of a Taekwondo uniform, with cotton-shaped belts and tops worn above and below that borrow elements seen in Taekwondo games.
Along with this collection, Kwon Do 1's "Black and White" colorway will also be released. An official photo of the shoes was shared in August 2022. The overall silhouette remains the same as the existing Kwon Do 1, with black colors painted on overlays, swishes, midsole, and mudguards, and white colors on the rest. The heel tap is embroidered with daisy graphics that symbolize Peace Minus One.
Original Kwondo 1 is collaboration marks the third limited-edition sneaker created by Nike and G-Dragon's brand, "Peace Minus One." G-Dragon is known to have presented Kwon Do 1 to 111 acquaintances before the official release.
G-Dragon shoes are highly sought after in the sneaker tech (sneakers + investment tech) market, as they can be resold at prices two to 100 times higher than the original price, yielding significant profits. In 2019, the 'Air Force 1 Para-Noise' was released with only 818 pairs.
Kwon Do 1 has garnered a lot of attention in the resell market, thanks to G-Dragon's influence. When the application for the purchase of sneakers was made earlier this month, various online communities posted articles such as "I fell out of application" and "I won the 1st place in Kwon Do 1."
The G-Dragon x Nike Kwon Do 1 New Collection will be available on the Nike website from April 11.
